Search Nebraska business names through the Secretary of State Corporate & Business Search database. The search webpage allows users to search all state-registered entity names, trade names, trademarks, and service marks. Businesses can use this website to verify whether a desired business name is available and not already registered in the state.
Business Entity Search
1. Go to the Nebraska Corporate & Business Search
2. Select Search Options
Choose the best search option for the business name search being performed. The options are:
- Name Starts With
- Name Keyword Search
- Name Sounds Like
- Name Exact Match
- Account Number
For this example Name Keyword Search and Match Any Words were selected to provide the most results (see image).
3. Perform Business Name Search
Enter the business name that is being searched for in the Name field and click Perform Search.
Before a search can be completed, the “I’m not a robot” reCAPTCHA box must be clicked to prove the user is human (see image).
4. View Search Results
A list of matching search results will be displayed on the next page, showing the following information for each result:
- Name
- Secretary of State Account Number
- Type
- Status
5. View Details
To view the detailed report for a search result, click the Details button (see image). The report will show the following information for entity results:
- SOS Account Number
- Status
- Principal Office Address
- Registered Agent and Office Address
- Designated Office Address
- Nature of Business
- Entity Type
- Date Filed
- Next Report Due Date
- Filed Documents
- Good Standing Documents
